Description

Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital is seeking a Network Administrator for a Full Time Position.

Shift: Days & On Call

Position Goal: The duties of a Network Administrator include supporting, designing, maintaining, and evaluating computer networks. The Network Administrator installs, configures, and maintains physical and virtual servers and client machines. A Network Administrator plans and implements computer networks for JHMH. They are responsible for installing and maintaining LAN/WAN hardware and software technologies. A Network Administrator follows company standards for configuring and installing firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, etc. This individual will also serve as a Help Desk representative to assist in monitoring trouble tickets.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Administers network configurations amongst all systems as per the guidance and design specifications given by the IT Director.
  • Monitor all aspects of the network, maintaining network uptime, and hardware/software installation/configuration relating to network technologies.
  • Install and upgrade systems with virus protection software and keep virus definitions and exceptions up to date.
  • Apply server updates including Microsoft patches and approved 3rd party applications.
  • Maintain network backups, documents, materials, and supply inventories.
  • Maintain data records and filing systems with multiple backup technologies and procedures.
  • Maintain technical knowledge and skills that involve network architecture, design, and troubleshooting
  • Performs VOIP telephone system modifications as needed.
  • Assist other IT staff with repairing and maintaining printers, computers, and other hardware devices.
  • Participate in the departmental on call rotation
  • Customer Relations: Customer support representative for IT department addressing networking and technical issues as they arise.
  • Assists and takes initiative in handling issues of a non-routine nature and performs other duties as assigned.

 

Experience: 1-3 years of Networking and/or Helpdesk experience required. Knowledge of client side and server side operating systems. Expertise in a variety of Networking technologies such as LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, FTP, VPN, and Active Directory. Must have sound knowledge of Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and WLAN Controllers. Competence with all associated software technologies and network security components. Knowledge of utilizing and maintaining a virtual environment with VMware is preferred.
Education: Minimum Associates Degree (IT related field) required.
Special Qualifications: MCSA/MCSE, Cisco, and/or VMware desired, Telephones/VoIP Telephones
